Good points, basically saying that the client buys into you (the salesman) before they even think about buying the product

this was an excellent video. you just reinforced the fact that being a friend is much better than being a sales person. great video.

I don’t like how some people are really rude in the comments here. I just got a job in a furniture warehouse and I need some serious tips on this and this video helped so much! Thank you!

I am really trying to abolish the whole “what they say about car salesman is true” bullshit, because in this day and age, if someone is like that, they won’t be in sales much longer. People don’t want to spend money or even time with other people that always want something from them, or doesn’t see them as a person and just another paycheque.

I am currently a car-salesman..or more specifically THE car-salesman of the past four months! And thats only because I am the person that hes describing..I’m not pushy, I’m not looking to scam my customers out of there hard earned dollars, I don’t keep anything from them, its called “Full Disclosure Sales”. I literally make friends with everyone that i speak with at work. They tell all of there friends, and they always come back for seconds!

Too true man. So simple yet so rare.

ha this video is about what I do on a daily basis.

And if I let them feel like they’re actually a part of the sale, then the chance for them canceling my product is way lower. this probably seems like common sense to all you professionals. But as a newbie (like myself) I would like to have this sort of information about sales techniques available, please share your techniques, I’d love to hear it.

I work as a door salesman, and for me it’s very important to get inside. I’ve found out, once im inside its really hard for them to not listen or even throw me out, and 2/3 times, I get a sale that way. some might call me rude, but even tho I know the chances are so high for getting a sale that way, and the contract takes about 5 minutes to fill out, I spend at least 30 minutes just talking about their everyday life, everyone loves to brag about their homes and stuff they know.

okay, well i need tips to sell accessories and i don’t have enough time have a long conversation with every customer…. what am i supposed to do? ugh, if i don’t sell enough i don’t get commission :S

I was that type of car salesman, i didnt care about what the company wanted me to push or what extras i could get. i always made sure that i was showing someone something that they wanted and made sure that it was functional for their lives. Unfortunately i worked with a few tards that were straight out of the 80′s, so they would always screw people and word finally got around that if you came to my dealership, talk to me instead. I love sales for the fact that I can help people

It’s called establishing common ground…… that’s part of the process. Worthless video.

  14. chawheefitzy says:

you know man that is a verry verry good point i am a door to door salesmen selling internet and that is very true the more personable they get with you or you get with them the easier it is to transition over to closing a sale half the time they didn’t even realize that they were planning on buying anything.

  16. kidhatten says:

its good to know people and to be nice. this is a very good point.

  17. worldviewtruth says:

been a salesman for a while. If you don’t like people in general, you’ll never drift into this direction. ..if you avoid drifting into that mode, you’ll be telling people, “well I used to be a salesman.” ha ha. this is so true.

  18. nicksparkle says:

Should be common sense for any slaesman worth his salt.

  19. Sanchez40065 says:

    Your face is not symmetrical, which as everyone knows, means you’re a bit ugly. How the hell can you watch this and think it’s good? You are inane, but don’t let that stop you from your ultimate goal. A reality check. You have NO CHANCE of being a good sales person. You stink Buddy. Great story though. {Sure!}

  22. zachliv1 says:

All good points. I’m kinda new to the business(financial rep 3 yrs). I didn’t think I was gonna make it but I have. I actually enjoy listening to my clients.

  23. rixbury says:

A good sales person is also concise with his or her points. Sounds like you are early in your journey, but glad to see someone notice principles among good sales people or consultants. Good luck!

  25. halfhawkhalfman says:

You’re describing something that has been known in the sales world for many years: First you sell yourself, then you sell your company, then you sell your product.
